Discover Toronto: Free CN Tower Admission with Your Library Card
Toronto residents now have an amazing opportunity to visit the city's most famous landmark, the CN Tower, for free. Thanks to a new addition to the Toronto Public Library's tpl:map program, anyone with a valid adult library card can book complimentary passes to the CN Tower starting from May 16 at 2 p.m.
How It Works
The tpl:map program has been offering free admission to various cultural sites in Toronto for years, and the inclusion of the CN Tower is a game-changer. To take advantage of this offer, simply log in to the tpl:map reservation site with your library card, choose the CN Tower from the available attractions, and reserve your date. Each pass allows a group of up to four people to enjoy general admission to the CN Tower during regular public hours. Note that special attractions are not included, and passes are subject to availability.
Why This Is Exciting
Pam Ryan, Director of Service Development & Innovation at Toronto Public Library, expressed excitement about this new offering. "The tpl:map program provides exceptional opportunities to access Toronto's art galleries, museums, and attractions," she said. "We're excited to include the CN Tower in our offerings, enhancing the cultural horizon of Toronto for families citywide to enjoy."
About the CN Tower
Standing at 553.33 meters, the CN Tower is Canada's most recognizable icon and a must-see attraction in Toronto. Each year, over 1.8 million people visit to experience its breathtaking views and award-winning dining and entertainment options. "Like the CN Tower, Toronto Public Library is an iconic institution that connects our community," said Peter George, Chief Operating Officer at the CN Tower. "This partnership is one of the many ways we are working to make our experience more accessible and inclusive."
About the tpl:map Program
The tpl:map program, which started in 2007, has grown to include a wide range of attractions in Toronto. From the Art Gallery of Ontario and the Royal Ontario Museum to Ripley's Aquarium and now the CN Tower, the program offers families the chance to explore the city's cultural treasures for free. In addition to the CN Tower, recent additions to the program include performing arts organizations like the Hot Docs Festival and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
Since the tpl:map reservation process went online in 2023, it has become easier than ever for Torontonians to discover and enjoy the city's arts and cultural experiences. With over one million passes borrowed to date, the program continues to grow in popularity, helping more and more residents enjoy the best that Toronto has to offer.
